Francisco Prieto was a working man of colour in Havana. He fell in love with María Rodríguez, a young woman from Asturias. Their love was met with rejection and prejudice.
Character.
Francisco refused to let the circumstances of his birth define him. Through discipline, character and an extraordinary attention to his appearance, he became a distinguished gentleman whose presence could no longer be overlooked.

Becoming
His transformation was about self-respect, confidence, and becoming the man he believed he was capable of becoming.

Francisco was our founder’s great-grandfather. From Havana to a new generation, Prieto’s carries one belief: true elegance has no boundaries of surname, class, colour or background.
